Boston College went 6-6 in 2021, 6-5 in 2020, and 6-7 in 2019. Three straight years of six wins, so it’s no wonder many sportsbooks have the Eagles’ season wins total right around 6.5 wins. Many suspect that if quarterback Phil Jurkovec had stayed healthy last season, it might have been worth a few extra wins.
When Jurkovec got hurt in the second game of the season, the drop-off in quarterback play was noticeable, especially when Jurkovec came back in November and played well. The worry is, with his gunslinger and lower-your-shoulder running style, can he stay healthy for an entire season?

Eagles 2022 Outlook
With head coach Jeff Hafley coming into his third year, there is an expectation for there to be a step forward. The talent on the roster has improved under Hafley. With a bit of luck and better health, there is a belief that the Eagles may take a step from being just OK to being good.
As mentioned, the offense will lean on star quarterback Phil Jurkovec. They need him to stay healthy, and the scary thing is the offensive line was terrible last year so it needs to improve to better protect Jurkovec. The run game needs improvement, but the receiving talent is significant, and there is potential with a good quarterback for it to be one of the more potent passing attacks in the ACC.
The defense is bringing back a lot of talent from a group that was fourth overall in the ACC in yards allowed per game. That is an impressive number considering how often the offense forced the defense onto the field. Last year, the defensive line was a committee approach. Yet if the Eagles could find a star — potentially Marcus Valdez, who had five sacks last year — it could go a long way to potentially being the top defense in the ACC.
If it has been mentioned once, it has been mentioned a million times: whether the Eagles go over their season wins total probably rides on the health of Jurkovec. If he stays healthy, chances are good they hit the over. Considering Jurkovec is playing for a shot at the NFL, one has to think he will do a better job of protecting himself this year and therefore help the Eagles win more games.
Our suggestion is to take over 6.5 wins at DraftKings, which has the best odds (+115), but stay away from any conference championship lines.
